For a designer, kids’ rooms might be the most fun to work on. Often you will make bolder creative choices that you wouldn’t necessarily do in the rest of the home. In this bedroom, the Hemme design team chose a deep brown-taupe wall colour to add warmth and coziness. We created beautiful drapery and added in vintage furnishings. The neutral room is energized with pops of colour, cherished keepsakes and practical storage.

Natural worn materials feel more authentic and grounding, making for a cozy restful space.

Pops of colour are an easy way to add contrast, depth and visual interest. When it comes to colour, the rule is there is no rule.
