Project Gurnett: Embracing colour and pattern
Every once in awhile you get a client who is not afraid of colour or pattern. A rare find! Stephanie, a fantastic art director (btw), was in the midst of renovating her new home and got in touch with Hemme. We first met up for a fabric consultation as the starting point (always start with fabric). During the lockdown, we would send her swatches through the mail and email her photos of fabrics that landed on our desk. We ALWAYS recommend that you see the fabric in the space.

She chose this Kravet Majorelle Blush for her bedroom, bringing a tropical dose of to the space – in a modern way. We also made a coordinating bed lumbar pillow in the same fabric.
Here are a few shots of the work we have done with Stephanie.
These beautiful green painterly floral drapes were made for her living room and completely changed the look of the space. We did contemporary flat panels and hung them tight to the ceiling, creating height in the room.

This set of drapes – in a whimsical but modern bird print – were hung in her home office.

One of our favourite sources for fabrics is Schumacher and we love this Abstract Leaf pattern for her bathroom.

A Roman shade is a great way to showcase a special fabric, and you don't need a lot of yardage so it keeps the costs down. We love the green and white feather print paired with the black and white palette offset with the natural wood door.
A pretty striped Roman shade plays well with the area rug in this walk-in closet.
Stephanie had this chair with great bones but it was worn. She chose this lively green and yellow leaf pattern to work with the rest of her home and fabric choices. Everything is looking so good! We love working with Stephanie!
