Project Crawford

Our client’s home is full of beautiful original Victorian details that became the inspiration for the design. The goal was to transform the second floor into a cozy, light-filled retreat with generous storage and flexible spaces for everyday living.

We brightened the rooms with a palette of soft neutral paints, using a slightly deeper tone in the TV room for warmth and contrast. Custom window treatments were designed to maximize natural light, while a thoughtful mix of new furnishings and existing pieces created a layered, collected feel. Colour and pattern were introduced through textiles, rugs, and wallpaper, bringing warmth, personality, and a sense of home to every space.

The focal wall in the family TV room presented a unique challenge, with exposed pipes and an off-centre television that lacked a sense of purpose within the space. Custom built-ins brought balance and symmetry to the room, concealed the exposed services, and added much-needed storage. The result is a feature wall that feels intentional, integrated, and perfectly suited to the home.

The guest bedroom already had beautiful bones, including the client's stunning antique bed and original etched-glass closet doors. We built on those existing features with a richly patterned Farrow & Ball wallpaper, a custom window seat, and carefully selected furnishings to create a space that feels both timeless and inviting.

This room was transformed with custom wraparound café curtains that provide privacy while allowing natural light to pour in from every angle. Designed as a flexible, multi-purpose space, it features a pull-out sofa for overnight guests and a games table for everyday living. It's also the favourite sun-filled spot of Monty the cat, and we completely understand why.
